With 3 critically acclaimed albums, 6 VMA nominations, an MTV Europe's Favourite Act nomination & a win for MTV's 1st Best Greek Act, Stereo Mike is undoubtedly one of the most promising forces in Greek music.
Born in Athens, Mike started his musical journey on piano, joined various school bands & soon started experimenting with synths, beats & poetry. By 18 he reached the UK to study Music Production & 4 years later he was working as a sound engineer @ a top London Hip-Hop studio. His original work soon brought him to the attention of a UK independent, who released his solo debut Satiri Nomades in 2005. The singles O Alos Babis & I Polis were licensed to Universal Music & led to his 1st nomination for Best Hip-Hop video in 2006.
Having collaborated with local legends H.Alexiou & E.Tsaligopoulou, Mike's crossover appeal soon invited major offers & he signed to EMI in 2007. He then released the 1st album from his trilogy XLI3H-ANELI3H-KATALH3H, featuring the Reggae Philharmonic Orchestra & a number of top Greek artists. The singles Fevgo, Anagnorisi, Perea Mou & Des Kathara received significant airplay & he performed the latter with A.Babali @ the same year's VMAs. In 2008 he returned to the VMAs with Tamta, while Fevgo received 2 nominations (Best Hip-Hop Video/Video of the year). 2008 also found him winning the 1st ever MTV Best Greek Act award & being nominated for MTV Europe's Favourite Act!
With Perea Mou, he received 2 further nominations in 2009 (Best Hip-Hop Video/Artist of the year), producing the modern anthem for the Olympiacos team & performing it twice @ the Piraeus Basketball Stadium. In 2010 he went on to remix Onirama, got nominated for Best Duet, extended his live shows to London & accepted the position of Senior Lecturer in Music @ the University of Westminster.
2011 found him completing the 2nd part of his trilogy, releasing the single Apla Zoi & featuring on a brave folk-rap collabo that saw him rank 7th among 43 countries in the Eurovision Song Contest. Mike then founded the radical rap-metal side project SchiZm with guitarist Constantine (Primal Fear), releasing the Red-Bull-sponsored video for Akoma. In 2012 he joined the legendary collective Imiz Biz Entertainment & released a follow-up single from ANELI3H titled: Opou Me Pai I Mousiki, which stands for his life motto: Wherever Music Takes Me!
