Proctor studied film for two years at the University of the North Carolina – Wilmington before transferring to Randolph-Macon College. Prior to attending Randolph-Macon, he directed, produced, and wrote a short film titled Nothing More to Lose. It was an eye opening experience, only strengthening his love and passion for the art of filmmaking.
In the summer of 2009, Proctor moved from his hometown of Richmond, VA to Washington, DC with his wife, Christen, where he started South of the James Productions and continues to grow creatively and technically by working on a variety of film projects. He is currently certified in Final Cut Pro 7 and DVD Studio Pro 4 and is continuing to pursue additional certifications to become an Apple Master Certified Pro.
