Sweetpotato Archimedia is a production company specialised in film about architecture.
It was founded by Wanda Yu-Ying Hu, an architect and moving image artist, who has created a unique repertoire of video work, video installations, and short films that explore new ways of perceiving architecture and the built environment. With her passion and knowledge in both fields, she has formed a particular language within the realm of experimental documentaries, focusing on the experiential qualities of architectural space.
Wanda Yu-Ying Hu was trained as an architect at Tunghai University in Taiwan and at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL in London, after which she has practiced in architecture for more than ten years. She worked in several internationally known offices before gaining an MA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2003. It was here that she began to explore video and film as her main medium of expression. She has exhibited her work in the U.K., Ireland, Portugal, Germany, South Africa, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea and the USA.
