Here's an unboxing and demonstration of my new StarTech external sound card. I had to buy one of these because my new laptop doesn't have an audio line input. It works well, and it even has other features which I might even use sometime down the road! I also didn't even need to use the installation disk. When I was buying my laptop, I asked the guy at Best Buy about an audio line input, and he looked puzzled for a bit, then started explaining that I can use a headset with a microphone. Luckily there was another employee there who actually knew what the hell I was talking about, and long story short, I ordered this. Music heard in this video: Smooth - Santana Is Love The Answer - Lighthouse A Passage To Bangkok - Rush London Life - Ian & Sylvia Katy Dear - Ian & Sylvia Pork & Beans - Weezer Together And Free - Climax Blues Band

Here's another soundalike 8 track. This time, it's Gordon Lightfoot. If you want to hear the entire soundalike album, you can download it here! I had to re-encode the MP3 file to 128kbps because the original file was way too big, but them's the breaks I guess. Also included in this download is the album art and track listing: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=73836524248866388242&gk=adsense Song list: - Don Quixote - For Lovin' Me - Carefree Highway - Early Morning Rain - Sundown - The List - Beautiful - Black Day In July

This is a screen shot of my stop motion animation movie. It's about two iPhones dancing to music of their generation and 8 Tracks dancing to their generation. Their two worlds collide when they meet for the first time. Despite their age difference and music genres, they coexist and dance together.

This was an 8 track deck, but I removed the 8 track portion and fitted it with a multi-voice square wave oscillator. The oscillator can be "controlled" by varying the amount of light that reaches the 3 photo-resistors. I also re-purposed the motor from the 8 track to power a reflector. The sound output is through the 8track wiring so the volume can be controlled. The Samsung TV happens to match it well, and the static from the TV does a nice job manipulating the oscillator. I also discovered my Joby Gorillapod flashlight helps with the performative aspect of this piece. I'm still ironing out the potential, so we'll see what comes of it. I need to improve the oscillator voices, work on other inputs and also construct a more finished arm for the reflector.
