Carmel Christian School began in 1992 as a ministry of Carmel Baptist Church . It was founded because of a need expressed by Carmel Baptist families for a Christian school after they completed the Carmel WEE School (Preschool). Carmel Baptist met at the corner of Carmel and Sharon View Roads in south Charlotte until 1997 when, due to continued growth, the church built a new facility on N.C. Highway 51 just inside the town of Matthews. At that time the school included Kindergarten through Third grade. Located on a thirty-three acre campus, Carmel Christian now offers a complete educational program for children in Kindergarten through 10th grade. Under the leadership of Carmel Baptist Church and the School Committee, the school continues to fulfill the vision of providing an engaging, biblically integrated curriculum that teaches students academically, spiritually, physically and socially. We seek to enroll students who will excel in a Christian environment. Our commitment to this vision is only exceeded by our commitment to Jesus Christ. Along with developing a passion for Christ, aggressive academic studies, chapel, and extracurricular activities such as: sports, fine arts, technology and communications, all weave together to give students the opportunity to express their uniquely God-given gifts and talents.
