Great boat, great crew, great concept, or in short - Dardanella. I had the pleasure to accompany this private yacht into the Sea of Cortez. Initially the Socorro Islands was the place to go but Hurricane Amanda didn't allow us to follow this plan. Nevertheless the trip turned out to be great as the Sea of Cortez is a world class dive destination on it's own. Onboard I found myself among conservationist, artists, thinkers and doers. An inspirational experience... check it out!

Video by Rupert Murray Sound by Jana Winderen The BLUE Marine Foundation has commissioned documentary filmmaker Rupert Murray to make a film exploring the organisation's extraordinary achievements over the last four years. BLUE has already created one of the largest marine reserves in the world in the Chagos Archipeligo in the Indian ocean. The film focuses on BLUE's latest project -- a Marine Protected Area at Turneffe Atoll in Belize, made possible by funding from the Bertorelli Foundation. Murray was making a return to the aquatic environment after his seminal feature documentary 'The End of the Line', made with BLUE founders George Duffield, Chris Gorel Barnes and journalist Charles Clover. Murray spent one week at the Atoll shooting marine life and extensive underwater footage onboard the TBA21's research vessel the Dardanella guided by marine biologist and Director of the Healthy Reefs Initiative, Dr. Melanie McField. From the boat, Rupert documented the extraordinary natural history and marine life, creating a visual baseline from which BLUE and the Turneffe stakeholders measured the success of the Turneffe Atoll Marine Protected Area in years to come.
