On 8 & 9 October 2010, The African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD - accord.org.za) hosted an international, high-level seminar on UN Resolution 1325, together with the African Union Peace and Security Commision. The seminar "1325 in 2020: Looking Forward... Looking Back" brought together 80 of the senior women leaders, academics and activists from the continent, to review progress on the implementation of 1325 and plan the way ahead for the coming decade to 2020. It resulted in the 'Durban Statement', which is currently informing policy and approaches to 1325 internationally.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is the world's first permanent, international judicial body that prosecutes individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. On June 15, 2012 Fatou Bensouda replaced Luis Moreno-Ocampo as the Chief Prosecutor of the ICC. She sent us this personal video after our Global Summit on the LRA at MOVE:DC. The chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court traveled to Kenya in October 2012 to press the authorities to release the evidence she needs to help prepare the case against the four accused of inciting violence after the country's disputed 2007 presidential election. Fatou Bensouda also used the trip to meet some of those who suffered and lost relatives in the unrest. My colleague, Karen Allen and I, traveled with her during a visit to the Rift Valley where she heard first hand that some people there still see violence as a legitimate way to exercise their rights. This is the TV report we filed on her visit.
