In the field with the Geronimo Hotshots, an elite crew of Apache firefighters who battle the biggest wildfires in the nation, and featuring stunning GoPro footage shot by the crew. Home for the Hotshots is on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in southeastern Arizona, where unemployment is high, and firefighting jobs are one of the few stable opportunities for work. "Your mom, your dad, your uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins—one of them probably fights fire," says Squad Leader Jeff Belvado. The Geronimo Hotshots are one of seven Native American hotshot crews in the United States who are sponsored by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

MOTION of the WORLD is a time lapse and 3D photo journey through British Columbia. Go from firefighting in the Caribou to the beautiful coast in Tofino. For the most part the edit shows the Kootenay area from Nelson to Baldface Lodge. I really would not want to live anywhere else in the world. Nº8 responsive responsive adj.- Quick to respond or react appropriately or sympathetically. As the only local fire brigade in the Falklands tasked with covering an area roughly the size of Wales (or Connecticut), firefighters from Stanley confront unique and personal challenges every day. Whether it's a Road Traffic Accident (RTA) involving a loved one, or a remote fire out in camp, their dedication and swift response is without question an essential service to these islands. Reserve Firefighter Caris Stevens also reminds us it's important to have a sense of humor to do what she does, as well as keeping a firm grasp on the hooligan bar! www.51degreessouth.com facebook.com/51South (Like this video? Director - Frederico Miranda Production - Sofia Fonseca Dop - Pedro Patrocinio & Frederico Miranda Editor - Sérgio Pedro Original Music - LAmA with ( Makoto, Jonas & Tatanka ) “FIRE MEMORIES” Living from the forest and for the forest. Living with fire and using fire. Wildfire as fire and the use of fire as a tool to fight it, i.e., suppression fire. The mastery of this tool is an ancient art that has accompanied the experience, knowledge, and wisdom of the forest services in Portugal throughout 100 years of history. A tool inherently linked up with life stories of people who cared, protected, preserved and guarded the forest, with a strong devotion. People who worked all over the year in the forest, planted, cleaned, built tracks and fought fires using mainly hand tools and suppression fire to rage across fire. Masters, Foresters and Fire Brigades that were working on the grounds of knowledge acquired through practice. Lives and memories of strong determination whose commitment was to defend their most precious asset: the forest.
