    • Mushroom Hunt Mugla - Turkey

      from SobeSan / Added

There's a certain period in autumn where the Turkish people around the Med and the Aegean search for a very special mushroom called Çıntar. It's a delicious wild mushroom that grows in the pine forest and can be eaten in many many many ways. If you find yourself driving around Turkey those days you will see people sell them along the road (holding up little plastic bags) I spent a day mushroom hunting in the woods near a small village in Muğla district, with a wonderful group of enthusiasts. It was one of the nicest activities I've done since I've lived in Turkey! Video shot in: a village near Muğla Video shot with: GoPro Hero 3 Black, Samsung S3 phone

A lot of the amateur hunting movies are all about shooting the animal. But for me (and probably the most of us hunters) hunting isn't about killing. That is why it is called hunting. Hunting is preparation, sitting and waiting, the music of a dog chasing an animal, a campfire and the exchange of hunting memories.

Amanda and I took some time away recently to enjoy some of the beautiful scenery we have here in Washington. Our trip took us all around the Olympic Peninsula. Naturally, we couldn't put our cameras down. This is a short film showing our journey through my eyes.

CINEMA VERTIGO presents “Lost in the FEARest”, a gentle blend of papercuts, electronics, programming and 2d animation. Inspired by the Smiths’ fears, we created a surprising pop-up book. Through a magic torch visitors of the Werkschau 2014 could unveil spooky creatures, scary trees, and crazy guests hidden under the white paper artwork. Cinema vertigo team and the Smiths worked closely with papercuts, animations and programming to create this analog/digital installation. The project was conceived, prototyped and realized in three days. Short test on a gopro stabiliser. I wanted to try to run with a stabiliser. Shot on 1980x1080, pro tune on. Graded a bit. No other effect added on post. First part shot with wide mode and after 1:39 I changed to medium. Speed up on 0:53 is just running faster. Next time I'll try some different camera settings and with a nd -filter.
