TALKING WITH THE DALAI LAMA am NY, By Jay Carr "His message of compassion and the need for humanity to tame its unruly side resonates powerfully. So does his determination to demystify himself." NY TIMES - All Movie Guide By Jason Buchanan "His Holiness the Dalai Lama addresses a variety of rarely discussed topics related to the current state of Buddhism in a live discussion held in the Buddhist high priest's living room in Dharamsala, India." ~*~ It is a great honor and quite humbling to share my unusual conversation with The Dalai Lama. I hope you'll enjoy it. Seven years after serving HH as a symbolic body guard in 1991, I approached Swiss TV with a concept to begin filming prominent directors about why they were making films on the subject of Buddhist spirituality and personalities like the Dalai Lama. In 2001, I was able to partner with REFUGE (watch on-demand) executive producer and we shot this interview in His Holiness's home in India. Filmed in his living room during a monsoon in Dharamsala, in early September 2002, it’s as though the Dalai Lama speaks personally to everyone watching. The feeling is unexpected, disarming and penetrating. H.H. had recently recovered from a health set-back while teaching in Bodgaya, the legendary place of the Buddha’s enlightenment. War was about to erupt between India and Pakistan in nearby Kashmir and 911 had occured just 1 year earlier. Our crew had filmed some good b’roll in the hill-town, home-in-exile to many Tibetans and the interview with the Dalai Lama will happen the following morning, at 9AM sharp. I have 52 questions for His Holiness to be addressed in a 45 min time span. The interview, which took 4 years to set-up, was to last 45 minutes, but instead continued nearly 90 minutes. TALKING WITH THE DALAI LAMA is edited from that never-before-seen audience with the 14th Dalai Lama. In it we touch upon topics His Holiness has hitherto never before responded to. This is a unique opportunity to experience His Holiness talking about the most intimate and detailed aspects of his personal life, Buddhism in the west, and meditation. The entire 80 minute interview is available on www.refugefilm.com

Today we discuss why did God create mankind as a sexual being, and what part The Fall has done to pervert that original intent. Dr. Dan Scott is the pastor of Christ Church, Nashville Tennessee, and the author of the book "Naked and Not Ashamed". He wrote this book to explore why so many ministers were falling into sexual sin and came to some very different conclusions than one might expect. In this epiode, Dr. Scott talks about the need for true intimacy and shares his thoughts on sexual repression, the sexual revolution, sexual addition, and the fear of intimacy that often surrounds us.
