This is a video that my friend Matt Bell took on our trip January 2014. A friend of ours in the village asked us to come and look at Madame Luben's house. She is in her mid 70s lives with her daughter and 4 grandkids, and as you will see her house is not inhabitable. She has many large holes in her roof, so every time it rains the family and most of the items get drenched. Her walls are damaged beyond repair and patched with cardboard. The fist storm of the season that comes through will wipe out everything she owns. The daughter was so happy when we said we wanted to help, she could not contain her joy. Please help us build her a home and keep that joy alive. The cost to build her a new house is $1300, we need to start work ASAP so please text "Leve" to 50155 to donate or go to https://secure.qgiv.com/for/levpro/ .

Art Creation Foundation for Children (ACFFC) is a non-profit arts organization created for education and personal growth of children in need in Jacmel, Haiti. It is registered both in the United States and Haiti as a non-profit organization. The organization’s main goal is to ensure that children have their basic needs fulfilled and that they learn to develop self-sufficiency via the arts and education. ACFFC offers a comprehensive arts-based program for impoverished youth, providing education, health care, regular meals and other opportunities to be involved in the community. One hundred percent of supporter’s proceeds go directly to to ACFFC youths, their families and associated programs. ACFFC is directed and overseen my Georges B. Metellus and Annie Lessage, who serves as the Administrator. Mr. Metellus was born in Port au Prince and at the early age of 7 years old moved to Jacmel. Ms. Lessage was born and raised in Jacmel. The children are happy and very much loved and well cared for. ACFFC gives these bright and talented youths a chance to have a voice, where they are heard, they have a future, because at the core of the organization’s drive is the belief that these children are the future of Haiti. As Judy Hoffman, founder and President and a member of the Board of Directors of ACFFC describes, "Arts, Education, Food, Healthcare, Security and Love.” Martin Luther King Mosartic Art Wall In 2013 The ACFFC received a grant from the American Embassy just in time to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King. With the grant funding, young adults from ACFFC completed an inspiring 45 foot long public mosaic mural as part of an ongoing Mosaique Jacmel Project.. This particular piece of mosaic art is located in the heart of Jacmel City, displaying "I have a Dream" in both Creolo and English. Locals are able to share their dreams on the wall as well. Mosaic artwork is displayed throughout the city of Jacmel. During my travels I had the pleasure of seeing each of Mosaic Art murals including such pieces as, The "Jacmel Wall" was built by the youths of Haiti and volunteers from the United States. The "Transportation Wall" (funded by a local gas station owner), The "Race Cars" (funded also by a local whose home is positioned directly behind the mosaic art wall), and the “Coffee Boat” (symbolizing that once coffee grown in Haiti and was imported to the US). Other mosaic art is displayed in parks, businesses and along side the newly developed beach area that had been affected by the earthquake of 2010. To learn more about ACFFC visit acffc.org
