    Yu-Chen Wang’s compositions blend western classical and traditional Chinese music. She enjoys expanding the usual instrumentation and forms used in Gu-Zheng ensembles. She was recently invited to play Gu-Zheng concerto, “Hovering in the Air,” with Ball State Symphony orchestra and a guest artist for Kansas City’s newEar contemporary chamber ensemble, UMKC Music Nova. She currently joins two ensembles, Compost Q and Orchid ensemble; these two groups bring her performs across the U.S. COMPOST Q (Urbana/Champaign, Illinois) improvisation • composition • dance -- A seasoned, multi-dimensional collective steeped in improvisation, composition, and dance -presenting active, rich, organic, dark, loamy and finished collaborations. Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion is a catalyst at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and in the extended community to support interdisciplinary collaboration and the synthesis of knowledge for the benefit of current and future generations. The museum is a cultural destination and a virtual presence that strives to enrich the human experience by inviting visitors to make connections through the visual arts between the past and present, between what is understood and what is unknown.       Guest curator Hank Kaczmarksi gives a personal tour of the "Astronomic!" exhibit at the Intermedia gallery of the Krannert Art Museum. The "Astronomic!" exhibit highlights the history and artistry of imaging the Universe and includes 2-D paintings, an electronic LED wall, 3-D objects, and an immersive virtual reality viewing room (CANVAS). Kaczmarski is the Director of the Illinois Simulator Laboratory of the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
