      • LEE JEAN YOUN "Waist Down" Collection at NYFW F/W 2014

from Noir Tribe Media / Added

"Waist Down" New York Fashion Week Fall / Winter 2014 Collection Pavilion at the Lincoln Center WHO IS SHE? So loud yet so calm, glitzy glamour with subtle restraints, living in culture yet longing for nature. There's no simple elegance to her style. Don't let her façade fool you. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is Lee's first solo show in New York. He is the Grand Prix winner of the 2nd Edition El Botón-MANGO Fashion Awards, where he won the hears of many in Spain, France and South Korea. He presented "Waist Down," his new women's ready-to-wear collection of thirty looks. Fifteen international models graced the catwalk and showcards uptown classics with cool downtown bites, subtly fused with Korean sensibilities of beauty. The specialized pelting techniques of mixing wool and silk organza created structural and poetic expressions, a perfect veil and unveil effect, and provided a cohesive thread throughout the collection. "My 2014 Fall/Winter collection is for the modern woman, a rebel," said Lee Jean Youn. "She embraces bolder and daring trends of the time, while remaining true to classic staples." The woman who wears Lee's clothing is described as an inarguably uptown creature. He views her as a woman who inherited her mother's austere, elegant closet: pairing classic pieces with mildly bondage-themed pieces such as a leather belt, a wool and organa mix tailed overcoat, and matching bag and hat. Lee's 2014 FallWinter collection is the ultimate celebration of a woman's modern and rebellious dance to the beats of the New York Street. Hair: Kevin Woon of Woon Salon Make Up: Benny Hancock of Oliv Arés HAUS OF GLAM, LLC Video: Amber Moelter & Luis Barreto Carrillo for Noir Tribe Media Song: Vai Vedrai (Alegría) - Cirque du Soleil

If there's one thread throughout the collections for fall 2014 it's that clothing is looser. There's a rebel in every room -- Zac Posen went in the other direction with meticulously tailored gowns. "We are seeing a lot of shapeless clothes here in NY. The body has all but disappeared it's nice to see a designer embracing the female form," says Ken Downing, Fashion Director, Neiman Marcus.
