Wake Up Houston is a personal project that took three mornings to shoot on during our free weekends. It's a reminder to myself and to the rest of this city to wake up and see the sunrise and to explore the beauty that is the strange quietness of downtown Houston, TX on a Saturday morning. // Shot with Panasonic GH4 and Sony A7s. This video also served as a test of the two cameras side-by-side. Both are amazing cameras for their own reasons. // Cinematography: Jake Brown & Chris Berland of B-Good Studios, HTX Edited in Premiere Pro, Graded in DaVinci Resolve by Jake Brown Music: "Kings" by Ryan Taubert

Watch extended timelapse clips: http://bit.ly/PGHTimeClips In case you still haven't heard, Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. As with my previous Pittsburgh short film "Steel City", I wanted to showcase the beauty and diversity of the area that many might not have known existed. We have stunning architecture, a diverse culture and an abundance of awesome water fountains. After eight months and seven-thousand still images, my hope is that Greetings From Pittsburgh, along with Steel City, will help change people’s perception of the area. The short film features several iconic PGH landmarks including the water fountain at Point State Park (The Point), the overlook in Mount Washington, Bessemer Court at Station Square, PPG Place in Market Square, the Cathedral of Learning, the Steel Building, the Gateway Clipper, the Allegheny County Courthouse, the Roberto Clemente Bridge near PNC Park and the Fort Duquesne Bridge near Heinz Field. Greetings From Pittsburgh was filmed with the Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR running Magic Lantern with the Sigma 17-50MM F/2.8 and Canon EF-S 55-250MM F/4.0-5.6 lenses and Tiffen Variable ND filter. The Davis & Sanford Provista 7518 Tripod with FM18 Head was used for support. The video was edited using Adobe Premiere and After Effects CS5.5 on a 15.4″ MacBook Pro with Retina Display. Image processing was handled in Adobe Camera RAW and the footage was color graded and corrected using Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks and Denoiser II. A truly fun packed Nottingham wedding. The day starts with the Groom darting for cover upstairs on the London bus as it arrives to pick up the Bride and Bridesmaids. So, girls downstairs, guys upstairs..singing their hearts out as they travel through the streets of Nottingham. And then the Council house wedding, Becky tries lifting Paul for the camera, Paul drags Bride to a local ice cream seller in the middle of Market Square and hundreds of onlookers. Then the romantic walk through the University Park with a quadcopter up above capturing dramatic shots. Finally, everyone settles in for the evening at the Plessey Club in Beeston for a right royal knees up. This is a much longer videogiving an overview of variety of activities from the Week For Peace in Nottingham, from 21st to 28th September. Some material is from some of the sequences already posted up, but there's plenty of workshops, arts and the grand finale to have a look at. Limitations on my Vimeo usage means that some more sequences are to come in the next few weeks.

                    • Pittsburgh's Mayor Peduto Wants to "Leapfrog" Your City in Bicycling & Livability

Mayor Bill Peduto is putting the rest of the United States on notice. His city is on the rise and he fully intends on implementing bicycling, walking and complete streets policies that enhance and make his city more attractive to young talent and business. For the first time in over half a century, Pittsburgh is expecting an increase in residents as the trend in the number of people moving back to cities grows. In September, the ProWalk ProBike ProPlace conference took place in Pittsburgh and the energy of the city was on display as was Mayor Peduto, who was very active at the event. The hope local advocates have for the mayor is apparent as Pittsburgh has implemented its first true protected bike lanes downtown and is looking to create a more multi-modal city that more fairly balances transportation modes. When talking with the Mayor it's immediately obvious how well-versed in urbanism and the history of cities he is. Even so, he went on a study tour with The Green Lane Project to experience some of the best bicycling in Denmark this past summer. Our interview with Mayor Peduto touches on quite a few topics of Streetfilms' audience will love. There is a real momentum: cities across the country have been electing mayors who understand one of the keys to growing a city is having equitable transportation policies that work for all people.
