In January we hand-delivered letters signed by you to Senator Bob Corker calling on him to hold a hearing on Sudan in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Now we are hosting a call-in day to Senator Corker’s Washington D.C. office to continue our call for the same action. We know there is a lot going on in Washington right now and many worthy issues competing for attention. But we also promised the people of Sudan we would do everything we could to help them overcome the severe issues forced upon them by their government. Many of you have joined that promise and we want to provide you with another opportunity to act on it. It’s simple. Here’s the 4 easy steps. 1. Join the Facebook event page and invite your other friends in Tennessee to join as well: https://www.facebook.com/events/387584994672163/ 2. On April 12, 2013 call Senator Corker’s D.C. office at 202-224-3344. 3. When the staffer picks up introduce yourself and say what part of Tennessee you are from. 4. Not sure exactly what to say? Here’s a script to help you out: “I am calling because I want the Senator to hold an emergency hearing on the crisis in Sudan at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the very near future. Our country’s foreign policy on Sudan has gone off track and I believe that Congress can help get our policy back where it needs to be, and I think some leadership from Senator Corker on this issue could be very helpful. And that’s it. Seriously. Learn more at obsilence.org.
