In Two-Face a common shape is shared between two different illustrated objects. The pairings compose a collection of functional yet radically shaped handbags. Each handbag comes in two versions. In the first, the coupled objects play with scale, perception, and puns to create not just formal relationships but conversations between previously distant images—a football on one side and an eye on the other suggest keeping one’s eye on the ball—a donut on one side and an egg on the other become different colored twins—a piece of grid paper on one side scales up to be a skyscraper on the other and so on. In the second version, each piece comes in all black and focuses on the pure simplicity of the novel shapes themselves.

I had never done any 3D art prior this, so I feel proud of the result being my first attempt of modeling and using Autodesk Maya for the first time... it wasn`t easy, It was kind of painful but I learned a lot in a short period of time. For my Final Bachelor Project for Industrial Design at the Technical University Eindhoven I explored how design can invite people to invest in their legacy starting from mid-life. Memoirs is a concept that tries to capture the complexity of this subject and create an accessible design to open up the discussion about legacy and social bonding.

Everything we choose and collect to surround us has meaning. Some of these things accompany us from the moment we are born. Some join us along the way. In a globalised world in which moving happens (more or less) naturally, home has become a temporary event, and curating is inevitable. We cannot carry everything we own. We need to make a selection, to decide what truly is worth keeping. By choice or by obligation, all of us have become curators of our own stories. And they travel with us, like a pop-up installation. With The Uncanny, we intend to explore what different people carry with them to feel at home away from home. Check out the project and the requirements to participate here: http://theuncannyexhibition.tumblr.com The Uncanny is a curatorial project by Ana Flecha + Carlos Pena.

For team discussion purposes: This is still a work-in-progress. 1,007 objects missing were generating errors I still need to look at. Some of the objects seen have extra rocket engines attached, and one or two objects have warp engines attached (not right). It's a start!
