Angelika Rainer won the Ouray Ice Festival 2015 in Colorado USA, an amazing place, one of the best for ice climbing. The competition has a particular formula: men and women climb the same mixed route, consisting of 7/8 meters of vertical ice, more than 15 meters of overhanging rock and by a 6/7 meter panel on which the route setters placed three artificial cracks. She couldn’t try the route before the comp, so she climbed onsight. Unfortunately she failed to reach the top of the climb: the second of the three cracks in the final was virtually impossible and even the men weren’t able to climb any higher than Angelika! She placed second overall and was beaten only by Canada’s Will Gadd. France’s Simon Duverney placed an excellent second, while the Colombian naturalized American Andres Marin placed third. In the women’s event Canada’s Sarah Hueniken placed second and America’s Katie Bono placed third, two superbly strong climbers with whom Angelika climbed with before the competition.

A video greeting card from River Stone Jazz, the music business of alto saxophonist and jazz composer Yasuo Ishikawa. The tune is Bits & Pieces composed by the late George Keith, a jazz genius and Yasuo's dear mentor. The SoBo Four, a jazz quartet featuring Yasuo on sax, recorded the tune on The G.K. Story in 2013. Other band members on the recording are pianist Justin Adams, drummer Brian Mixon and bassist Derek Woodbury. The photos were taken by staff of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The video was edited and produced by Tanya Ishikawa, booking coordinator for The SoBo Four.
