Before we look at his/her role, let’s look at the three areas of any business that meet their prospects and clients, and therefore have a chance at generating revenue. Two obvious functions, that generate revenue, are sales and marketing. But the other function, that can generate revenue, is customer service. I believe all three of these functions should be under one person. Each function should have its own manager, VP, etc. depending on the size of the company. But each of these functions should have responsibility for generating revenue.
