A quick test of the new GoPro Protune software upgrade. Last time at this location in the Forest of Dean the sky to the right was completely blown out. Looking quite good "straight out of the box".

Not the best of locations for a test but it was quite sheltered from the blustery wind currently plaguing this area. The TB3 third output is powering a Phidgets 99:1 stepper motor driving a gear attached to the zoom ring of my 24-105 Canon lens. TB3 is set to video mode 1 min duration with static and ramping settings accounting for the extra duration.

This was mostly taken in the Forest of Dean at a local viewpoint not far from my home using a few hundred images to create the time-lapse sequence. Music Dream Catcher by Fred Capo.

An exercise in key framing moves with Dragonframe software to control the TB3 and dp S0 rail. 1) Cart starts in the centre of the rail moves to the Left end whilst the TB3 tilts from -45 to 0 degrees. 2) Cart move back to centre and TB3 tilts from 0 to +45 degrees. 3) Cart starts in the centre of the rail moves to the Right end whilst the TB3 tilts from +45 to 0 degrees. 3) Cart move back to centre and TB3 tilts from 0 to -45 degrees. My third or fourth use of DF. still learning, the number of frames shot per key frame were arbitrary, for my next attempt / modification will be base on frames / per distance travelled between keyframe to hopefully give a smoother, but not necessarily better movement.

This 3-axis test ran fine until a battery failure at 2.5 hrs into the shoot required me to hot wire a replacement to the system. The effect can be seen around 00:25 where the dolly move speeds up unnaturally, it also caused reduced movement on the tilt and pan movements. The tilt being the more pronounced as the camera view should have been much lower on the return trip, otherwise an interesting experiment. Certainly relaxing sat under the trees for a 3 hours ;) TB3 was loaded with the Dragonframe Arduino sketch and the DP S0 powered by a stepper using the TB3 third output.
