In November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan ravaged the Visayas region in the Philippines leaving a trail of death and destruction in its path. It was infamous for being the strongest typhoon ever to hit land. In Singapore, two very different organizations worked together to assist victims of the disaster: * Clubsnap is Singapore's largest photography community. They raced against time to raise funds for the victims of the disaster. These funds were handed over to Mercy Relief * Mercy Relief is a Non-Government Organizaton setup in 2003 to assist in major tragedies in Asia. They have the resources to go down on the ground to directly assist the victims. This story is dedicated to the men and women from these two organizations who worked together to help victims located in a country 1,400 miles away. Hopefully, this film will inspire more people to donate their time and resources to organizations like Mercy Relief.

On October 15, 2013, a powerful earthquake shook the province of Bohol causing massive damage and killing nearly 300 people. Two weeks later, Typhoon Haiyan claimed over 6,000 lives and destroyed not only whole communities, but entire livelihoods. Months later, the relief work continues as OM Philippines teams are on the ground in Tacloban and Sagbayan providing food, supplies, and counselling to the survivors. Despite the devastation, God is breaking through barriers as local churches are reaching out into their communities giving practical help and sharing the hope of Jesus. www.om.org/relief-and-development

from Benjamin Forthewin E / Added

The idea to initiate a relief drive is not new. However, our group organized a cause to further help deliver goods to the victims of the Yolanda catastrophe. We selected Brgy. Mauway as the location for our project. It is our deepest hope that this video showcases the spirit of Bosconian Servant-Leadership. We truly enjoyed the process in creating this presentation and we hope the viewers experience the same spirit of optimism and cheerfulness we felt while watching. We officially titled this as "Brgy. Mauway Relief Drive for the Victims of Super-typhoon YOLANDA". This was also internationally known as "Haiyan", a powerful tropical cyclone that devastated portions of Southeast Asia. This is the culminating effort of the following people: 1. Jean Azores 2. Raymond Hernandez 3. Ronalyn San Pedro 4. Sergio Alvarado 5. Patrick Medina 6. Benjamin Esguerra We are also very grateful for the participation of Emman Martinez despite being a member of another group. All of us are from Don Bosco Technical College in the section of 3-IT-B. This production is for our Sacramentology class and dedicated to everyone. Enjoy!
