The children and the people of the Southern Nicoya Peninsula are drowning in road dust due to unpaved roads. What was once a quiet rural sector of the country has become one of the most desired destinations in the world. The unpaved roads were a charming aspect of the countryside to the city dwellers that would escape to the coast, however, over the course of three years, Santa Teresa, Montezuma, Malpais and the surrounding areas have grown at a rapid rate and the roads have become a death zone. Thousands of natives and expats are protesting against the unpaved roads. Their children are being diagnosed with chronic lung infections, skin infections, eye infections, some will go blind as they become adults, and others will die due to road fatalities unless we do something now. In this video, Joella, Jesse and I travel to see President Solís and the Minister of Transportation to ask for help to pave the roads in front of the schools and to consider a new road building technology using recycled plastic waste. The people are not willing to wait anymore, and with the permission of the government and the municipality they are taking action to pave their own roads to protect their children. Your donation will go towards building roads in front of seven schools to protect the children first. Your gift makes is possible for our initiative to operate and succeed. Please go to www.pavetheroad.net and DONATE NOW. THANK YOU. Love Kelly, Joella and Jesse.

Our lovely friend Reed Thomas Litman came and filmed a weekend workshop taking place at Isle of Yoga in the summer. Erling and I were hosting and we had Marc Woolford as our visiting teacher. This brings back memories of an inspiring, transformative weekend. Erling and I were busy creating healthy alkalising vegetarian food for the party and we also had time to join in with the workshop and enjoy the creative energy of the group. Although we all worked hard and focused on the challenges and experience this Yoga practice has to offer, we also had time for plenty of chats, laughter and relaxing together.
