Team Fatlace recaps on rounds 3 and 4 of the Formula Drift series. In Florida, Matt not being able to qualify due to mechanical issues, Walker blowing a tranny during practice, rushing to get it done before top 32. And myself finding out lenses being broken! :( We also had a slammed society show in Palm Beach, Florida. Was a great turn out, and threw a few clips in there to show off the winners and some clean cars. New Jersey, was the wall. Literally. Both Matt and Walker hit that thing pretty tough! I think most of the drivers did crash or wreck in some way. Not only was there a lot of crashes, but there was a CRAZY rainstorm. Matt moved onto the top16 in jersey, and walker ended up blowing a diff in top 32 while in his lead run with forsberg.. And myself was dealing with another broken lens this round as well. So thats 2 in the last 2 rounds ! Shot on : Canon 7d Canon 5dmkii Music: I Would Do Anything For You - Foster the People Filmed and edited by: Abbitt Wilkerson Aditionall footage from: Zak Kerbelis

The battle for 1st place in both Rookie of the Year and also the FD Champion was down to the wire!!! It was amazing! Congratulations to Dai Yoshihara for taking the 2011 Formula D Championship! Walker and Matt did awesome this season and props to them! Until next time! Finally got around to finishing this video. It has been forever ago since i was in Japan. Its been about 7 months now. Yeah i have been slacking, but i have been motivated again. Ever since Japan was struck by the Eartquakes etc, I have been working my ass off doing stickers that i am making and doing for charity and then donating all the profits to Red Cross Japan Relief Fund. This really got me motivated to finish my Japan video. I saw pictures of places i had shot that were ruined and i wanted to relive my experience. Stickers can be ordered here: forjapan.bigcartel.com ETA: Is about a week or two due to the fact I am doing the stickers myself. Theres a video i previously posted of how i do them! Thank you for the support! This trip was by far the best i have ever been on. Everything in Japan is just so much different and getting to experience these drivers and watching them tandem so close is unreal. LITERALLY. Ebisu Circuit is awesome, and so are all the drivers and everyone in Japan. ***Also Walker Wilkerson got to drive here. He is in the black hatch with no front bumper on!*** One thing i lacked and had trouble with was a tripod. Next time i will have more gear!!! I ended up using my steadicam as a tripod somewhat Enjoy the film. Special Thanks to : Antonio Alvendia from Motormavens.com Andy, Chris, and Emily from Powervehicles.com Kumakubo and friends from Ebisu Circuit and anyone else i forgot. Thank you so much for letting me come out there and film! I will be back for drift matsuri!!! Filmed & Edited by: Abbitt Wilkerson music: urban cone - urban photograph

Towards the end of last race season I rolled out to North Carolina for a weekend to shoot a promo video for my friend James Kirkham, and ended up with a great representation of how he spends his days leading up to a race. In 2010 I found a new love... this love is still very young, immature, but it is definitely a love. all feelings are involved, happiness, anger, the good times, the bad. but I think its the times that you persevere through trial and error repeatedly and come out on top with something amazing to share with everyone that makes that love worth fighting for. Still I am very much an amateur videographer, there's not a thing about it I could even consider hating. even the things that cause frustration(slow lap-top, obsessive compulsive renders just to make sure things are going good) I love. those things force me to continue learning and evolve my style as a Filmer and editor. This event marks a great start to 2011 and I see a great year ahead. To say some words about this event. WOW! what energy!!! I don't think the temperature went higher than freezing all day but no one was complaining. I think the excitement of the new year and the first drift event was keeping everyone warm and fuzzy inside(LOL)! At a time when most places drift community is hibernating, the northwest is still out tearing it up All winter long. Though the NWs "Big Boys" are hanging out, some of our finest grass roots drifters took to Pacific GP Motor sports Park full throttle, media was out in full attack also! Ryan Davis (YAER Productions) and his wife made the drive up from Portland. Ryan set up base camp right in the middle of the track which was super convenient since he's got some of the coolest gear and was kind enough to share with me. As you'll notice in the video I spent alot of time with his jib and a wide angle lens which I think paired with the song makes for a late 90's skateboard movie feeling. Ryan is definantly someone I look forward to working with in the future, me and him were just feeding eachother ideas all day, the energy was awesome. The Big boys from "Big Boy Media" also made the trek to Pacific GP. all the way from Canada, Gaelan Norman, Josh Reading and Ben Kaphuis out snapping photos all day. Gaelan was going to drive the event in his 180SX but due to a clutch not being delivered he was unable to. Big Boy Media invited me to be their first video contributer to their website and since I am a big boy and they gave me a sick sticker I had to ablige!!! One last person i'd like to mention is Sid Titus. I've known Sid for quite a while now and he has always been a good friend. Not to mention he takes some SICK photos. Sid is a true car enthusiast and has been doing car photography for as long as i've known him but this was the first time he came out on the track to shoot, which got me all excited! Love seeing friends come out and getting more involved as they should be!!! Thanks goes out: Paul and Juli Zalud- you guys rock! (PacificGP.com) All the PGP staff- such cool people and very easy to work with. Ryan Davis @ yaer(yaerproductions.com) thanks for all the help this weekend and letting me borrow your equipment. Your stuff is too legit! Everyone @ BigBoyMedia.Net i'm super stoked to be working with you guys! Sid Titus- For being cool BRO. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/30204174@N03/) A great start to 2011. • Ryan Tuerck Vegas Formula D 2011 - YAER Productions

                    from Ryan Davis / Added

First off I'd like to say how much of a pleasure it is to work with Ryan Tuerck. He is a professional, talented and dedicated young man. Second, the inspiration for this video came from a music video I recently saw online from the artist Sapient. He is a local musician from the Portland area were I live, and I have been bumping his stuff for years since his days in the group Sandpeople. You should check out his facebook for songs and updates on his tour @ facebook.com/Sapientkills Lastly, for this video I wanted to try a few new things... I wanted to use only one lens for the main section, and that being a 50mm f1.2 at 1.2. I also wanted to get yet another style of video for Tuerck. The last one we did at the Seattle FD stop was more on the comical side (vimeo.com/28039775), so we decided to flip the Vegas one a different direction. I want to continue to try and find ways to show other sides of these drivers than we are all used to. It's hard for me to follow a driver through a series if I know little about him/her. So my goal was to show how real life a person like Ryan Tuerck is, and how good he is at swinging a beast around like that Camero(which I got a ride in and will never forget). That said, hope you enjoy the work.
