"3DMIN CONCERT #1 – Complexity" was the first event in a collaborative Lecture and Performance Series between the TU, UdK, 3DMIN and LEAP Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/365872296920448/ >>> Alberto de Campo - Metacontrol Study Nr 1 Based on recent experiments with more indirect forms of control ('Lose control, gain influence'), this performance will be an attempt to formulate a balance between gradually relinquishing control of the sounding processes in play and handling the ensuing surprises gracefully. www.3dmin.org www.xLEAPx.org

█ “ Nothing exists until or unless is observed. An Artist is making something exist by observing it. And his hope for other people is that they also make it exist by observing it. I call it creative observation █. Creative Viewing.” – William Burroughs. In the █Quicklook series nr.3, SomoS presents a new series of generative print works by the Resident Artist █ Andre Wakko Hostalácio. █ Negating nothing, incorporating everything. █ NNIE is a series of generative mandalas, a reply from lines of code mixing equation with intuition. Mandalas are known for stabilishing a sacred space as an aid to meditation and trance induction. Playing with them is a exercise of lucid dreaming. Open your mind and let the forms go out. █ Ande Wakko ▶ www.andrewakko.com

The Creature “Sweetysourus” (Suithisaurus turbulens spasmodicus) is a member of the installation Varia zoosystematica profundorum by the Generative Art/Computational Art Class (Alberto de Campo, UdK Berlin). It presents models of mainly acoustic communication in the deep sea. A number of actants ("creatures") transmit symbols ("letters"), assemble them into chains ("words"), and express these by sound, light, or motion patterns. Freely simulating aspects of animal behavior, one may find that the strangeness of the unknown reflects the human world in unexpected ways. The work was part of the Transmediale 2011 and the Campus Labor at the ARS Electronica 2012. Dictionary: “Sweetysourus” (Suithisaurus turbulens spasmodicus) was first found in the Indian Ocean, off the Island of Sri Lanka. Initially it was believed that the found object was only the skeleton of a previously unknown tropical saurian that had sunken into the deep sea after being disoriented by a monsoon storm. Later sightings have revealed that it is in fact a living being, which has quite complex behavioral patterns; e.g., it has what looks like shiver spasms about 30-40 times per hour. It was named by an Irish marine biologist after the Gaelic word for “skill” (with the vernacular name being an unfortunate example of scientific humor)". An immersive sound installation by Andre Wakko, Yair Elazar Glotman and Tommi koskinen Parabolic shapes resonate with frequencies, creating a network of sound that takes over the space, conversing and building on itself with sound, light and movement. Viewers are invited into the space, their bodies able to influence and interfere with the system's dialog. The feedback of sound and light excites and agitates itself until ending in organic entropy.
