The 17th edition of Sevilla its 'Bienal de Flamenco' will be held from September 7th to September 30th. Established in 1980, the Seville Bienal takes place every two years. According to a survey by the Junta de Andalucía’s Tourism Council, the previous 16th edition in 2010 welcomed 11,431 visitors. The Real Alcázar is the venue for the inauguration and several new auditoria have been added to the program, among others the Fibes center the CICUS (Cultural Enterprise Centre at the University of Seville) and the Santa Clara area, home of the Biennale, specifically chosen for the "Recitales del Convento". The Real Alcázar and the inspiring Monastery of the Cartuja will present extraordinary concerts such as "Flamenco y Otras Artes". The new auditorium of the FIBES congress center presents “Camarón 20 Años”, a great tribute to Camarón de la Isla his 20th anniversary featuring artists such as Duquende, La Susi, Montse Cortés, Pepe de Lucía,... all led by Javier Limón. Other artists during this 2012 edition are Pepa Montes, Ricardo Miño, Aurora Vargas, Javier Barón with Esperanza Fernández. Gerardo Núñez will present his new work “Travesía”. The show “Triana Toca, Canta y Baila” presents artists such as Rafael Riqueni, Paco Taranto, Carmelilla Montoya, Remedios Amaya and Juan José Amador. The Cartuja Monastery is the venue for “Flamenco y Otras Artes” which Israel Galván’s work “Solo”, “ReciclArte” of Ana Morales and “Colección Privada” of Marcos Vargas and Chloé Brûlé among other works. The series “De Viva Voz” includes artists such as Rocío Márquez, Hermanos Iglesias, El Chozas, La Sallago y María Mezcle, Miguel Lavi, Manolo Franco, Toñi Fernández, Márquez “El Zapatero”, Juan Murube, Eduardo Rebollar, Pedro “El Granaíno”, Santiago Lara, Rafael de Utrera, José Quevedo “Bolita”, Manuel Osuna and Tamara Aguilera. Seville’s Bienal de Flamenco 2012 has its own poster made by the Cádiz born artist Guillermo Pérez Villalta, the design of the poster is inspired by a polka-dot dress on a female figure lacking a face since this years's edition of the Bienal is dedicated to dance.+ More details
