OK The Radian Camera stabilisation system from Freefly, In short Tabb's done it again! These units are small and easy to install, a module is used for each axis. In this video i used only two modules, one for tilt and one for roll. Unfortunately the roll was a little off which i didn't notice until i got home :-( Best place to test this thing is in a real environment... Another typical winters day in Byron Bay:-) Australia's most easterly point. As you can see, no post processing was used and settings were left at default on both modules. It was easy to configure and the software works, i used sbus option which means less servo cables. Something to note, these modules are super sensitive and need mounting well. In this video i just zip tied them to the camera mount. Using foam or rubber mounts and tweaking some settings would give some awesome results. What comes next should be Uber brilliant :-0 Simon

      • Stabilization of the video-camera with the help of the mechanical gyroscope

This inert system prevents the video-camera from swinging. It is sufficient to connect the feeding battery and the line of horizon will stop flickering. Softer stabilization is secured, if compared with the electronic systems of stabilization. The mechanical gyroscope is an ideal solution for stabilization of the camera, if it is not needed to maneuver during shooting.

This is a short film piece representing one recent family day at our local oval park. Micah had only been walking for about two weeks. Thus, 'Baby Steps' an apt title! Many thanks to my beautiful family, Claire, Sarah & Micah. Filmed on Canon 550D, Sigma 30mm F1.4. Vibration removal on the Tricopter has now reached a level where the iPhone does not record any jelly effects. And now that the SloPro app can record at 60fps 720p I can slow it down to make things look even smoother. Putting together a Y6 frame with roll/pitch stabilisation gimbals attached underneath as the next step up from this.
