Saturday morning we had a cattle drive through the cities and festivities at Tuscawilla Park. Instead of going to Tuscawilla Park we attended the annual primitive arts festival at Silver River State Park. It was so interesting and I will make a video of it later.

Riding on our ranch's mountain pasture is always pleasant, but it becomes AWESOME when you find elk in the timber! This is more an auditory movie, as the elk were reluctant to come towards me. My son and daughter-in-law were on the opposite side of the elk, so they couldn't run uphill or downhill. They finally got nervous enough and ran between us, crossing the draw I trail my little herd of cattle up, and running up the next hillside. Turn your volume WAY UP, and listen to them calling each other. It is a herd of mommas and babies, and they call to each other repeatedly. At one point, there was a sound much like an ocean wave, and I just knew the herd was whirling as one, and going to run over the top of me! It never happened, but it's the anticipation that gets you excited! It was then back to work, trailing our cattle out of this pasture.

The Cattle Drive in the outback of South Australia is a real step back in time. A trip between herders and cowboys to bring large herds of cows from one farm to another and in Australia, this means days and days of travel between spectacles of nature riding on the red sand of the outback.
