Chrysalis is a post-apocalyptic horror film set decades after a bio-terrorist attack unleashes a virus upon the world, transforming much of humanity into vicious creatures and laying waste to civilization. The remnants and survivors have staggered about for years, as the infected slowly starve and die off. Our story follows Josh (Cole Simon) and Penelope (Sara Gorsky), two such survivors who have banded together in the hope of rescuing others and hopefully rebuilding civilization. When they encounter Abira (Tanya Thai McBride), the lone survivor of another group, they must face new and terrifying challenges if they are to survive. Chrysalis (2014) is the fourth feature from Glass City Films, produced in association with Huckpoten Entertainment, written by Ben Kurstin and directed by John Klein.

The third and final character-specific Chrysalis teaser centers on Abira, a mysterious and intelligent woman rescued by Josh and Penelope in the aftermath of infected attacking and splintering her group. Her strong survival instincts belie a complex, tragic, and hidden past, and her true motivations are unclear even to those closest to her. Comma Butterfly, Polygonia c-album, caterpillar anchoring itself to a stinging nettle stem and undergoing the process of pupating. The chrysalis resembles a withered leaf. Two or three weeks later the pupal case splits and the butterfly emerges. The species is named for the comma like white marking on the underside of each wing. Nature, wildlife and macro video library clips shot in the UK by specialist cameraman Steve Downer. Filmed on a JVC HD110 camera, HD 720p. www.wildlife-cinematography.co.uk

My first timelapse. A bit jumpy in places as the tripod was knocked. It shows a Comma butterfly caterpillar changing into a chrysalis (albeit rather abruptly in the middle). More a case of experimentation in workflow and output. I held it back to 15fps but I don't know how Vimeo will deal with this.
