This video series is over 4 hours long and covers the entire drawing process, the entire color mixing process, and the entire painting process. You'll get to see how I draw and paint a glass mason jar, an elephant figurine, a brass box with an intricate pattern, scattered flowers and grass, an old weathered bottle, reflections on silver, fabric, and more. I do all of this with a palette of five colors, and every time I do anything, I make it clear exactly what I'm doing so you can follow along and do it yourself. This is the main video I use to teach in my online course, and it's the most important one to watch if you really want to learn my painting method.

            • Resolve colour checker feature with a7s

Sorry for its roughness but I hadn't intended to upload this when I shot it as a quick test, but I thought the result was worth sharing. This is the result when using Resolve's new colour checker calibration feature. To my eye the result was spot on to what I was seeing with my eye. I am using this process on all my shoots now. Works well.

I shot an Xrite ColorChecker Passport with my Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera as a reference for grading natural colors in Premiere Pro CC and am pleased with the results so far. After using the colorchecker reference chips to set levels, white balance, and a slight tweak to hue (see below), reds look red and the overall color looks balanced. ** DETAILS ** Sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 with B+W ND .6 filter Speedbooster Nikon G to MFT ISO 800, 5600K, DR:Film, ProRes Zebras 100%, ETTR until zebras disappeared from white chip on colorchecker I placed the Passport ColorChecker in direct sunlight (coming in from over my shoulder). I created four effect nodes in Premiere as follows: 1) Fast Color Corrector (FCC) to set levels: - Set middle gray at 50IRE - Set black at 20IRE - Set white at 100IRE 2) FCC to set white balance 3) FCC to adjust Hue (for reds) and set sauration: - Created four point garbage mat to isolate red chip in vectorscope. - Adjust hue until red hits the red target line [R] in vectorscope - Increase saturation until red is at the 75% mark in vectorscope. 4) RGB Curve with a slight s-curve for contrast I also tried this using a Tiffen T1 IR cut filter but it introduces a substantial green cast even after setting white balance and adjusting hue (step 3 above). I seem to be getting better results without the IR cut filter but am still testing.

A Quick demonstration of the Nuke gizmo "mmColorTarget" that i've been working on recently: It matches colors of two input images using the MacBeth ColorChecker. This can be useful especially if you need to match footage from different cameras with different color settings. The resulting ColorMatrix Node does a linear color transformation that approximates the source to the target values. Also there's an option to use reference Values to approximate neutral sRGB Values instead of a target image. . Available on nukepedia, check my blogpost for further information. www.marcomeyer-vfx.de

Neat Video filter test. Intentionally shot with 12 dB gain to test this filter. Shot at 1080/30p. Scene file set to BPRESS with all adjustments set to 0. Exposed the white square at 70 IRE on the HPX-170's waveform. White balanced in-camera using the WhiBal card pictured. Post processing done on exposure and color. Highlights, midtones and shadows were adjusted to approximate XRITE card specs. Very minor color adjustments were required to bring the Whibal card to a perfectly neutral color.
