Durango was founded by the Denver & Rio Grande Railway in 1879. The railroad arrived in Durango on August 5, 1881 and construction on the line to Silverton began in the fall of the same year. By July of 1882, the tracks to Silverton were completed, and the train began hauling both freight and passengers. The line was constructed to haul silver & gold ore from the San Juan Mountains, but passengers soon realized it was the view that was truly precious. This historic train has been in continuous operation for 131 years, carrying passengers behind vintage steam locomotives and rolling stock indigenous to the line. Relive the sights and sounds of yesteryear for a spectacular journey on board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Sony RX100II Manfrotto 560B Monopod Benro S2 Head MagFilter Polarizer

!n the Summer of 2012, 7 friends and I got together to ride our mountain bikes from Durango, Colorado to Moab, Utah. We covered the 220 mile journey over 7 days with just little packs on our backs as we used the San Juan Hut System, which came fully stocked with food, water, stoves and sleeping bags. The journey included 26,000' of climbing, as we cycled across high alpine passes making our way to the red, rocky canyons of Moab. Built in just 9 months in 1881, this narrow gauge (the distance between the rails) steam train runs along the Animas River for about 45 miles. This was the most gorgeous scenic train ride we have ever been on. Some of the cars are with windows that open and close some are open air. You spend 3 hrs. up to Silverton, with a few hours to meander, another 3 hours return trip-same seats rule applies. More experimental learning with FCE 4. -I am using more of the filters in FCE, but I am being sure to not over do it and let the footage speak for itself. -In a few shots I had to bump up the brightness/contrast. The adjustments were easily applied. -I am continuing to learn about the audio tracks, as well. In this project, because of background noise, I copy and pasted certain sounds-but I won't tell you what and where. -I also sped up the video in places.
