During the second week of school our class of 22 three-year-olds began to express an interest in hammering. The interest came about when one child developed a theory that a log on our playground was filled with bugs, and then began recruiting his peers to help him open up the log. This video documents our efforts to extend that interest and empower our students to pursue their theories. Audio in the first half of the film is a recording from a class meeting facilitated by Meredith Dodd. The music track in the later half of the film is from Okay Temiz's song, Kobra.

The Cromarty Arts Trust inherited a vast array of tools from the estate of the late Michael Murray who was one of the first artists in residence at the Stables. These courses are held regularly at the Cromarty Arts Trust. Please contact us for more details - we'd love to hear from you.

After so many years traveling, Stanislava has settled in her Melbourne studio. In a process of dreaming and mapping, she has begun retracing her life through delicate pinprick maps on white paper, detailing the cities she has called home. Hidden within each ephemeral piece are her memories, routines and experiences of each city, as well as pathways leading to her friends houses across the world. The National Gallery of Australia recently acquired two of her pinprick works, making Stanislava one of the youngest artists in the national collection. Bright Night Sky will be an exhibition of fourteen pinprick maps on paper and large installations by Stanislava, on display at Backwoods Gallery. www.backwoodsgallery.com Directed, Shot and Edited by Louis Mitchell Produced by Alexander Mitchell Background Track Midnight Moon by Psychic Ills (http://www.psychicills.com/)
