I've only slept a few hours in the last week. I was up through the night, every night, putting this together. I'm a bit delirious and raw right now. I knew what I was doing was hard and important, and it gave me reserves of energy I didn't know I had left. Given that, I've tried to keep all emotional outbursts to a minimum. Until now. PATREON!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for the opportunity. Not just the trip to San Francisco, but for giving me renewed purpose. I'm so excited to be a part of this group of amazing artists and thinkers. This is a NEW RENAISSANCE in the art world. Some personal thank you's: ANTHONY! HOMIE!! OC Representin'!! ::gang signs:: ♥ Jack and Sam: YOU HAVE CHANGED EVERYTHING. I can't express enough how important this is. You will be remembered in history books as having fundamentally improved the world. Aside from being cool, kind-hearted geniuses, your energy for Patreon is downright inspiring. We are all grateful to you. You are both brilliant, dedicated, hardworking superstars and you deserve ALL the good things that will come from this. Jack: Your vision is infectious and I am honored to learn from you. I have no idea how or why I stumbled onto Pomplamoose all those years ago, but it's difficult now to see it as anything short of fate. You've helped me find my voice again after losing it. I wish I could hover around you like a planet orbiting the sun for just a little while and absorb some of your energy. It is pure light. :) Nataly: Best reaction ever. Thank you. Tyler, Cole, Kathy, Henry, Mily, AHHHHH I'm forgetting people's names!! To everyone at Patreon who welcomed us so warmly: I am forever grateful for your kindness and enthusiasm for my art. I felt right at home with all of you. THANK YOU for all the hard work you do every single day!! I found Patreon last year during what ultimately may have been one of the lowest, darkest points in my life. I'm not sure I even knew how bad it had gotten until I began feeling hope again. I started getting new ideas. I had a new vision for my art and my life. I was flooded with inspiration. I suddenly had so much motivation to make dreams come true again! Where had all of that gone? Patreon, it's not an exaggeration to say that you may have saved my life. Special thanks to Colin: You give me the freedom to be an artist. You held the camera for me in San Francisco and you've held my hand during the 13 years before that. You kept me strong and focused during this crazy week and encouraged me whenever I felt overwhelmed. I love you more than art and travel. I must be one of the luckiest girls in the entire world.

In March of 2012 my wife, Nicole was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Her treatment was scheduled to begin in May in Marin County, California, approximately 300 miles south of our home in Arcata, Ca. Not being someone to let life's struggles get her down, she decided to take charge of her treatment, raise money and awareness, and show herself and our kids how strong she is by riding her bike the 300+ miles from Arcata to her first round of chemotherapy. With the kids and the dog in the van, we followed along as the support team. Two years later and Nicole is stronger and healthier than ever. Music: Peng! 33 by Iron & Wine
