    Hooked On Success! The Army National Guard (ARNG) is always exploring new and innovative ways to connecting with its target audience. Ranked as the fifth most popular sport in our nation, fishing boasts forty-four million participants. With such demographics, the ARNG decided to launch an FLW fishing sponsorship that consisted of four branded bass fishing boats, professional anglers and co-anglers. The missing link was how do you connect bass fishing with National Guard recruitment? Although the ARNG sponsorship was reaching massive demographics, it lacked a clear message connecting recruitment with bass fishing in the minds of FLW audiences. Hooah proposed a strategic solution to make their sponsorship marketing dollars more effective. Appealing to Fisherman in Their Element. To draw in fisherman, Hooah recommended developing an ARNG video and website that would closely match the sport’s style of entertainment with the creation a fishing show. The video would be shot in HD on location at various lakes throughout the U.S. and in our studio. The program’s goal was to captivate audiences with stories of competitive fishing; and, tips and tricks from pro-fisherman. Once the program captured the audience’s attention, the anglers (as role models) would share their insights on how to reach goals successfully. At the same time, anglers would draw attention to the tools that the Guard offers to help individuals successfully attain goals. The end result would be an effective marketing tool for recruitment. By using the entertainment factor of a fishing show, we would develop an effective soft-sell recruitment message, appealing to competitive bass fishermen’s two loves, fishing and competition. The Guard’s Message of Success. Our creative script writing and production clearly connected pro-fishing with National Guard success. Fishing anglers touched on Guard principles and applied them in fishing and other aspects of life—in their boats and in our studio. Benefits of joining the Guard were woven into the video; and the Guard’s positive message of success rings throughout both the video and on the website. Stunning Production Quality. Hooah’s commitment to delivering the highest quality productions is just one more reason why the Guard chose us for this project. We delivered a four minute teaser trailer video for the Guard’s website and a full-length 30 minute High Definition (Blue Ray HD) DVD. The full-length production was distributed as a streaming video on the National Guard website and showcased through the Guard team’s mobile theater system at events nationwide. As a production studio, Hooah constantly remains on top of emerging technologies. We push the envelope to provide our clients with the most cutting-edge services available. Content marketing that hooks it its target. How did the audiences respond to the video Its cinematic production quality engaged viewers immediately. Without using a hard sell, it generates positive brand association, relating winning anglers to the Guard — expanding the Guard’s message of success to every aspect of life. It’s fun; it’s not just recruitment. It thus makes lasting impressions and enhances the Guard’s investment in every marketing dollar spent. The website Hooah developed to compliment the video made visitors feel like they were actually fishing as they explored its creative interfaces to learn more about fishing tricks. The site was an example of Flash done correctly, providing users with quick loading times and intuitive navigations. Hooah continues to work with the Guard to develop impacting productions such as this one.

                  This is a collection of video shot in Iceland near Reykjavik during the summer on one of my filming assignments. Iceland is a beautiful country and actually it is not very icy at all! (Except for the glaciers!) Iceland reminded me of pictures I had seen of Scotland and Ireland.
