Working with amazing designs is always a treat. Here, the IanniX score is based on SkullFlower, a piece by talented designer/musician/screenprinter Ogo Eion, these are his web locales: http://www.tessellate.us [fashion/screenprinting/patches] http://iokaos.net [radical freelance design for print and web] the IanniX score is triggering a few nefarious instruments in Ableton Live 9. Enjoy. I hope to do a series on Ogo Eions' work.

Working with learning the 3d aspects of IanniX, using background images to represent the scores shape and eventual sequence. This work in progress has MakeNoise Musics' Rene, Pressure Points & MMG as bgimg's., and the IanniX score is sending midi to Ableton Live 9 w/ Aalto, Granulator, Battery I thought it'd be fun to score onto such amazing actual analog gear. and see what happened. Right: Background Images belong to Make Noise Music Co. http://www.makenoisemusic.com/rene.shtml http://www.makenoisemusic.com/mmg.shtml http://www.makenoisemusic.com/pressurepoints.shtml http://madronalabs.com/products/aalto https://www.ableton.com/en/live/new-in-9/

First score composed using ianniX. Simply wonderful sequencer. The background image is Intonarumori- Luigi Russolo (1914). I used that as my graphic sequence map. Triggering Aalto, Granulator, Battery within Ableton Live 9. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi_Russolo [He is often regarded as one of the first noise music experimental composers] http://www.iannix.org/en/whatisiannix/ http://madronalabs.com/products/aalto

Altering and toying with Iannix, an open source graphic sequencer, sending ableton live 9 waves of midi, triggering madrona labs Aalto & robert henkes' max for live synth Granulator.....soooo amazing. Just the tip of the iceberg with Iannix, learning how to manipulate a score, speed, syncing, and recording the midi as to wrap my head around it. its a bit much at first. but definitely worth it. http://iannix.org http://madronalabs.com http://www.roberthenke.com/technology/granulator.html

Barographic is a new site-specific composition which creates graphic scores from atmospheric pressure data, and uses the architectural form of the venue as an animated 3D sequencer. For the first phase of the project, a clockwork barograph will be installed to record the ‘atmosphere’ at The Sage Gateshead. Over the course of four weeks (March-April 2013), a series of graphs will be produced, charting changes in atmospheric pressure during the seasonal transition from Winter to Spring. This mechanised process will create the graphic scores which form the central elements of the new composition. Alongside these scores, the venue’s architectural structure acts as a 3D animated sequencer, creating melodies and rhythms that correspond to patterns that are inherent within the design of the building. The finished audio-visual piece will be performed live at The Sage Gateshead on Wednesday 26 June, as part of Festival of the North East. This project has received support from PRS For Music Foundation, Arts Council England, and Festival of the North East.
