Sticks and Stones is an animated story about a boy exploring his world, mediated by technology and social media. Are we a part of nature, or outside it? Is it "human nature" to be cruel? Through empathy, we learn everything is connected. Story, Direction, Animation: Isaac King Music/Sound: David Kamp Produced by: Head Gear Animation Produced with the support of: Ontario Arts Council, an Ontario Government Agency Sticks and Stones © Isaac King 2014 Screenings and awards -Animasivo, Mexico City - July 23-27, 2014 -Japan Prize for Educational Media, Tokyo - Oct 15-21, 2014 UNICEF Award Finalist -Planet In Focus, Toronto - Nov. 6-9, 2014 -Regent Park Film Festival, Toronto - Nov. 19-22, 2014 -Animac, Lleida, Spain - Feb. 19-22, 2015 -IndieLisboa, Lisbon, Portugal - April 23 May 3, 2014 -Wild and Scenic Film Festival "Student Sessions", Nevada City CA, USA - Jan. 13-14, 2015 Director’s Statement: In real life and online, kids are bullied. Innocent animals are also mistreated "for fun", or by those too young to know better. This film examines how technology and social media affect the way kids interact with each other and the world around them. This film is intended for all audiences, but particularly geared towards children. It can be used as an educational tool, as the themes of peer pressure, online responsibility, "nature deficiency disorder", and environmentalism are topical and pressing social issues.

This video is a superfluous part of one of my basic multimedia courses at school. It is an amateur attempt to show the nature of the game, which doesn't really come out so well in literal description. This video probably doesn't do it much justice, either. Rest assured, it is a total kick-in-the-pants. From the J.S. Joust website (http://www.jsjoust.com/): "Johann Sebastian Joust is a no-graphics, digitally-enabled playground game for 2 to 7 players, designed for motion controllers such as the PlayStation Move. The goal is to be the last player remaining. When the music — selections from J.S. Bach's ‌‌Brandenburg Concertos — plays in slow-motion, the controllers are extremely sensitive to movement. When the music speeds up, this threshold becomes less strict, giving the players a small window to dash at their opponents. If your controller is ever moved beyond the allowable threshold, you're out! Try to jostle your opponents' controllers while protecting your own."

A 7-minute animated film by Isaac King. The term "second hand" refers to the ticking hand on a clock; it also describes re-used items. Would you rather save time? Or save stuff? This film examines the imbalance and waste created by these modern obsessions.
