Brian Bannon, Commissioner of the Chicago Public Library, reads "Mountains of Change" by Mariel R, grade 11. Mariel's story is part of "The Noise Felt Human," a collection of stories involving life-changing moments in our older students' lives. As we compiled and edited the submissions, we realized that they deserved an even greater audience than we normally can offer... The Video Project at 826CHI was the result. We asked a variety of high-profile Chicagoans to read these stories on video, using the simplest recording conditions possible. The video clips are deliberately underproduced and raw to reflect the tone and forthright nature of the stories.
