The "Lost River" is the upper section of the St Lucie River South Fork Waterway Trail. This was mid July and this unique stretch of river was swollen above it's banks from excessive rainfall. Paddle upstream with Derek and I as we make our way to the headwaters against a 3 knot current.

Beautiful April day kayaking the Lost River Dry Gorge in Wardensville, WV. AW lists the minimum as 2.5ft on the SFSB Potomac at Brandywine gauge. On this day we had a bit over that at about 2.55ft. The first two or three rapids are a bit scrapey but it was still plenty of water and plenty of fun. GoPro inadvertently recorded in 848x480 120fps mode. Some additional cellphone footage from Landslide edited in.

Rachel Lichtenstein's "Diamond Street: the hidden world of Hatton Garden" (Hamish Hamilton, 2012) intimately describes London's secretive and mysterious jewellery quarter. Intimately connected to the area both personally (through family) and professionally (as an archivist of London streets), Lichtenstein is uniquely placed to explore the extraordinary stories of this historic part of old London. Crossing the same territory repeatedly, guided on her walks by different experts, she gathers new layers of the story with each journey. The result is a brilliantly immersive and multi-layered portrait; both a documentary and a secret history of a vanishing world. Under Hatton Garden lie the remains of the buried River Fleet. In this film Rachel takes us into those lost depths..
