Few incidents epitomized the violence and racism that permeated the Deep South like the murder of two young black couples in Monroe, Georgia in 1946. Roger Malcom had been imprisoned in Walton County for stabbing his white employer, whom he believed was having an affair with his wife. After a week in jail, Malcom’s wife, his brother-in-law, and his wife accompanied a prominent white farmer, Loy Harrison, to bail him out. What they didn’t realize was that this was a set-up to lynch Malcom. In this four part documentary series, we follow the trail of the FBI’s initial investigation and meet with relatives of the victims, civil rights activists and elected officials in an attempt to uncover the facts behind unsolved Civil Rights murders from the late 1950's & early 1960's. A horrific chapter in our country’s troubled history of racial conflict.
