PUP Ep.1 Wrote and animated this to get familiar with toonboom. It's supposed to emulate when you're down that dark corridor of youtube, and stumble upon weird disney cartoons that kind of went over your head as a kid. It was a lot of fun, and I really hope to make more eventually, but for now, on to the next project!

One rainy afternoon I was wandering around the local museum when I came across a wall of L.S Lowry paintings and sketches. I was totally surprised and over the course of a few weeks I kept going back - drawn into Lowrys' world. I admit I had little knowledge of the wide ranging subject matter of his works and even less about him as a man and artist but the more I looked beyond the stereotype of matchstick men, I began to see more and found that there was strangely a connection to his world. In 2009 SOUNDICIAN released L.S, a cd based on the paintings of British artist L.S Lowry, where each track was a sonic interpretation of some of my favourite paintings and sketches. Some time ago I thought that I would try to create short films to accompany the tracks on L.S. This has been a bit of a long term project and a labour of love but finally completed in 2014. Lowry was a solitary man and often depicted himself as Monoliths rising from the sea in isolation from anything around him or as dark ships on the horizon. Music is by SOUNDICIAN The pictures used are: Self Portrait as a Pillar in the Sea (1966) The Sea (1963) and the photographs are Lowry by Sefton Samuels (1968) Lowry at the top of Wellington Bridge Steps, Stockport with the viaduct and River Mersey in the background (1962). Part 21 of 26 Making Of The Numberlys Segments! One vital day while storyboarding various ideas for The Numberlys, things just weren’t working quite right. We couldn’t visualize the vast, oppressive vistas that appealed to us from Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. Then one venerable day, a pin fell off the corner of a storyboard… Vertical Victory! We were no longer vexed. That’s how The Numberlys became a very vertical visual feast. View more Numberlys Behind The Scenes videos: http://numberlys.com
