I am using electromyography (EMG) to evaluate the electrical activity of the muscles associated with the ring finger to apply central force to the boxes on screen and manipulate them in three dimensions by utilizing the coordinates of the index finger. I use force and direction in a similar way after stacking the boxes to knock them over. I snap my fingers and point. ofxLeapMotion github.com/ofTheo/ofxLeapMotion ofxBullet github.com/NickHardeman/ofxBullet Muscle Sensor http://www.advancertechnologies.com/2013/09/muscle-sensor-v3-back-in-stock.html tesuji https://soundcloud.com/lee-meredith/dust-bowl-refugee

Worked with Keenan to get the forearm prototype working with the full stack: myoelectric sensors reading into the Arduino and back out to the LEDs. Feels so cool!

Testing a prototype that activates a bunch of LEDs with varying intensity depending on how much my calf is contracting. I did a bunch of ridiculous stuff while testing this out. Views best with Eye of the Tiger in the background.

Working on a suit that lights up your muscles when they’re contracting. I think it’ll look amazing in performance and long exposure shots. But first some prototyping. http://danielmclaren.tumblr.com/post/63757094059 Music: Roberto by Happy Elf (http://www.wmrecordings.com/freedownloads.htm)

This is a sketch done in processing of the Advancer Labs Muscle Sensor linked up to and Arduino and communicating to processing via serial. I have plotted the raw values and am able to determine whether my hand is "gripping" or not. I am hoping to use this in a climbing prototype for training.
