BEAT ASS A travelogue documentary featuring the third "Lords of Fun" motorcycle road trip... a 3-day, full throttle celebration of bikes, fire, stunts, Chihuahuas , freedom and FUN! Directed by Fraser Byrne (@fraserbyrne) WWW.MAKEYOURBONES.COM WWW.FBMBMX.COM - - - - - SUPPORT MYB! CHECK OUT OUR APPAREL: http://makeyourbones.bigcartel.com - - - - - Background: Crandall and I had been talking about working on a project together for a couple of years, but the invite for Lords of Fun 3 couldn't have come at a worse time; I was stone broke and had no business booking airline tickets. I had totally given up on going. Then pictures started surfacing of dudes starting their journey to Richmond, pics of Leland and co on the side of the road with a weird little dog, pics of open roads, bikes, sunsets and middle America. I felt like I was missing out already and I couldn't stand it. So I booked the ticket and 48-hours later I found myself at a Greyhound bus station in the sweltering heat of Richmond, VA. Crandall arrived sweating profusely and it was full throttle from there on out. This film documents some of the weirdness that ensued over the next 3 days . . . -Fraser Byrne - All connected by a common element within bicycle culture, A bunch of friends, motivated by good times, and the thrill of adventure, teamed up with London based filmmaker Fraser Byrne, resulting in this tiny film, titled "Beat Ass: On the road with the Lords of Fun". The moniker is nothing more than a tongue and cheek proclamation of sorts, an excuse to invite a bunch of friends from far reaching corners of the earth, and all walks of life, to get together for a good time. It's unaffiliated, unfunded, unsolicited, and somewhat unintentional, it's just a reason to get together and get some kicks. We loosely planned a trip to the coast From Richmond Va, to the Outer Banks, using the FBM bikes Tour bus, a dozen or so motorbikes, and all of our gear, (sleeping bags, bikes, skateboards, fireworks, etc...) Our goal was to hit up a bunch of skateparks, campsites, a dirt dragstrip, and what have you, for a long weekend. We ended up getting trapped in a tidewater suburban nightmare, under the veil of a tropical storm warning, roads were flooded, rain and winds all but made moto travel impossible, the drags got cancelled, and well you get the idea... We still managed to make tuna fish out of tuna shit, just nothing like we initially pictured as we rolled out of town for our first hundred or so miles... For a few days, as silly as it was, our own shared absurdity, was our only reality. Having fun is an essential part of having a good time - Steve Crandall - - - - - Music in order of appearance: Ben Nichols 'The Judge' Minor Threat 'Think Again' Black Lips 'Juvenile' Holy Modal Rounders 'If You Want to Be a Bird' The Oh Sees 'Grease' Danzig 'Overture, winged night demon' Danzig 'Long Way Back from Hell' Ben Nichols 'The Judge' Thee Oh Sees 'The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending A Night In'

Inspired by exceptional Scottish Sculptor Andy Scott and his magnificent Kelpies, the Iona Crawford Beauty and The Beasts Capsule Collection concept was first conceived in the mind's eye of the designer over a mug of tea with the sculptor himself, in his cool, steely, hanger-like warehouse studio in Glasgow. Surrounded in the dark expanse by towering steel built horses, cold hard concrete beneath their elegantly crafted equine libs, Iona was left with no doubt as to the collection she had to sculpt in their honour. The rich contrast yet subtle parallels between these great beasts and an intricately tailored feminine garment is inexcusably intriguing. Delving further into the concept of the Kelpies, a title inherited from their inception eight years ago, and to the sculptor's personal legacy as the son and grandson of working heavy horsemen in central Scotland, Iona became further engrossed, surrounding herself by Clydesdales, Shires and Percherons, the equus magnus of the European north. The towering horse heads with their industrial aesthetic, structural columns and beams visible through the riveted laser cut steel plates of the skin, the manes rendered as geometric overlapping slabs of steel; a veritable ocean of equine inspiration collided to create the framework for the Beauty and the Beasts Capsule Collection. Where steel and By Andy's interpretation, the mythology associated with the Kelpies has been absorbed by personal sources of inspiration in the creative processes, forging the ancient ethereal water spirits into engineered monuments. With silk as her steel, intricate stitched detailing and immaculate french seams as her rivets, Iona's tactile print and tonal cloth form feminine structures of engineering by delicate contrast. References to saddlery through cut and structure dictate silhouette whilst bespoke damask lace, featuring a figurative representation of the Kelpies in large scale, pays reference the metallic geometry of the sculptures themselves.
