In this way it allows costumers to provide organic food with faire price in conventional shops. Shop owners usually hardly select fruit and vegetables looking outward appearance instead of taste, generating a big waste in the system. Organic products are more tasty and less "beautiful". Cortofrutta change the rules allowing to producers to create their own tags, stickers and tissue papers. These artefacts attract the consumer and inform him about the products he's buying. You've never been so informed about fruit and vegetables you eat, do you still care about their aspect?

With a dream to live in the country, smell the fresh air and see the stars at night, Tom Beddard founded Lady Moon Farms in 1988 with his wife Christine on five acres in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. A city kid born and raised in Pittsburgh, From an early age, Tom enjoyed gardening in his parent’s backyard and went on to study horticulture at Delaware Valley College. It was during his time that he started to think differently about conventional agriculture practices. The question he struggled with was: "Why spray chemicals on the food you were going to eat and into the soil of the earth? He wanted to grow produce that would make people healthy and strong and not harm his children. He met with a lot of resistance in the early days with restaurants and local markets turning him away because his produce was “different.” Lady Moon Farms was a founding member of Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA) with Christine acting as the founding secretary and Tom was the founding President of Pennsylvania Certified Organic (PCO). Lady Moon Farms is known for its ethically and socially just practices, providing year-round employment and fair wages. It was the first tomato grower to join the Coalition of Immokalee Workers in 2009 and is the first produce grower to support Whole Foods Market’s non-profit, Whole Kids Foundation, supporting schools to improve children's nutrition and wellness. Lady Moon Farms is now one of the premiere organic vegetable growers in the country with over 2400 acres and over 200 full time employees, providing produce year-round with farms in Pennsylvania, Florida and Georgia and all the while remaining ever fanatical about freshness!

              • How to make quick Compost Part1

                from Logos Philippines / Added

Part1 of how to make quick compost. (Credit to many You Tube sites about composting, especially the Berkeley Method, and composting in Hawaii.) Reason for Composting: 1. Many people become more health conscious and prefer vegetables organically grown. 2. Lucrative use of waste material 3. Protection of the environment, reducing trash, garbage and filthy waste turning it into something super beneficial We are experimenting with the different methods of making organic compost the fastest, easiest and cheapest way. One of the methods we seem to like, is the Berkeley Composting method, which can produce compost within 2-3 weeks by containing the heat in the compost pile. In part one we just show how we gathered different materials around us like rice straw, leaves, branches, banana trunks and leaves, manure from our sheep, saw dust etc. that can be used for composting. We could also use, paper, cardboard, wood pieces, kitchen scraps, but for this initial experiment we limited ourselves to the above. One think we have learned is, the smaller the particles are the faster the fermentation. Therefore we have spent quite a few days chopping the leaves etc.
