A little practice involving great new addition in Cinema 4D release 16 - Motion Tracking. Although this could be done in other specialized softwares for this (Syntheyes being one of them, or even After Effects) it is convienient having all that you need in one place. Cinema did the great job on tracking really difficult handheld shot. Projection Man&Coverage render were used to get a clean plate (to remove tracking markers). Mixamo's mutant was used as a hero subject - it's moves was first converted to motion clips then combined into desired motion.

A little set of motion tests I offered to do with Chris Burkard's surf photography. They sent me this photo (http://www.burkardphoto.com/Surf/i-2cV45c4/A) of a surfer in Iceland, and I used Cinema 4D Projection Mapping to create a world in which we could animate a camera. One of the examples has some extra chromatic abberation, lens distortion and excessive grain....... ....all things that Chris undoubtedly works hard to remove from his photos. This is mainly an example to show how far we could push things stylistically, and how to incorporate some elements like type into the piece.

I tried to push the technique of Camera Projection to the limit and built a whole canyon landscape. Everything, except the tower is created by photographs mapped on low poly geometry and composited with atmospherical Footage such as Dust. Tools: Cinema 4D, Photoshop, After Effects

Camera mapping a stack of coins in Cinema 4D, featuring some sweet love in After Effects. Has some glitches but it's been fun! Kudos to whoever shot this.

Before you start, upload the files necessary to complete this project on this link: http://www.renderready.com/?p=3033. This project is based on Projection Man, a tool located in Cinema 4D but few people know how to use it and how amazingly powerful it is. We will take an image of an old, haunted corridor and turn it into a 3D scene, light it using C4D and make it absolutely spooky and amazing. Then in post, add finer details to really bring out the terror. Check it out!
