    "My Space" was created during Project Poetry Live! 2010, a wide-ranging dance/arts-in-education project created by Litchfield Performing Arts and delivered, in part, by Matthew Westerby Company. The PPL alumni group (age 13/14) created My Space in collaboration with Matthew Westerby Company dancer, Alessandra Larson. It is a dance exploring the places in this world that we carve out for ourselves and in which we thrive - alone and together.

With a fluidity and seamlessness in movement content, the piece explores weightlessness, exploring new realms and the identity of undiscovered colonies.           "My Heart is Breaking" Music: Lucky Dragons, Radical Fashion Performers: Mandy Chan, Alessandra Larson, Kristin Licata, Bafana Matea, Clement Mensah Lighting: Mike Riggs "My Heart is Breaking" was inspired by Christian Boltanski’s work, "Personnes." The choreography explores intimate human relationships before and after death. Notions of memory, possession and recovery were explored in the creative process, and the piece became a journey through the process of loss, grieving and remembrance. "One day all our bodies will be still, our clothes empty." This piece is dedicated to the memory of Gladys Westerby.

            "Dreamfield" Dreamfield was created using photographic images of sports, and was developed choreographically with the concept of two opposing teams preparing for a match. This piece was created specifically with our arts-in-education program in mind and was referenced by the company during our recent Connecticut public schools residency in April 2010, and was premiered during Project Poetry Live! at the Fine Arts Center, Naugatuck Valley Community College in June 2010.
