On December 28th, 2013 A group of stout masters decided to head to the Rio Fuy, we had one thing on our minds, and it has been on my mind for almost 6 years now…THE PUMA! To this day Salto de la Puma is still the tallest waterfall ever run in Chile. We unofficially yet accurately measured the drop this year to be around 35-36 meters tall (110-115 feet) This combined with it's difficult entry and dangerous landing zone makes The Puma, in my mind, is one of the most technical waterfalls in the world. With the 2nd descent going down just 10 days earlier by a young German paddler...The time was now. With the right level, group, and experience, Evan Garcia stepped up for the third descent...This is the story. Filmed by: Colin Hunt, Aniol Serrasolses, and Evan Garcia Shot on: Canon 60D, Go Pro Hero 3, and Sony FS 700

Watch Team Siphon accompanied by Papa Garcia roll down to the Huilo Huilo Canyon of the Rio Fuy. This late summer classic is about 2 hours south of Pucon and only runs at extreme low flows. The highlight is an un-portagable 20+ foot seal launch into a 50 foot falls. Along with that comes an abundance of class IV-V making it one of our favorite in the country. Enjoy the video from the last good day of boating from our 10-11 season in Chile.

My last day of this Chile Season ('12-'13), I woke the boys up early and made the quick drive down to Lago Ranco, Chile home of the Rio Florin. We were lucky to get some summer rains that had all of our favorite creeks flowing in January. Accompanied by Isaac Levinson, and my younger brother Nate Garcia, we put-on one of the steepest runs in Chile. A huge land slide changed the last section of the gorge and gave us an uncomfortable sense of helplessness while scouting a new rapid. However, with only a few bumps along the way, we completed the entire river portageless in a few short hours. Enjoy our short edit from the day and get ready for the Full Episode dropping sometime soon...
