It has been long since my last posting. I got this Banjo two weeks ago and start exploring its possibilities to play classical music. It's an interesting instrument with a drum-like resonator and sounds so bright. I played this piece on the guitar and harp before without much success. The experience is totally different on the Banjo. The timbre gives a clear separation of parts in Bach's music. I am sure it will sound better if I really know how to play a Banjo well and this is the best I could do in two weeks. The video was made in Ottawa Canada a few month ago. I like the religious mood of the Parliament. I recorded the music with a Rode NT4 I brought recently.

Brunnsviken, Stockholm on august 5th 2012. The hissing sound you hear now and then in the video is the sound of rattling leaves and swaying bulrush. The sound has not been processed, but I had to raise the audio level 8 dB due to low volume level.

A short extract of a 20 minute piece, played by acclaimed guitarist, Dimitris Dekavallas. Nicholas Maw's "Music of Memory" is an extremely challenging piece. Dimitiris, who won the Ivor Mairants Guitar award, amongst others, makes it look straightforward. Graded for effect in MBL.
