The Salvation Army needs your support this Christmas. Please go to www.salvationarmyappeals.org.uk and help us reach out to the homeless, the lonely and the desperately poor. Help us give them the love and support they urgently need -- with a special Christmas gift of £19. Your £19 could help us deliver a box of nourishing food to a family living on the breadline, along with a modest gift for each child. It could enable us to offer a homeless person a warm bed, a hot meal and hope for the future. Or it could help us reach out to an older person, who would otherwise be all alone this Christmas, and invite them for a festive meal and a few hours of friendship at one of our centres. To do these things -- and be there for all those who need us -- we need to start preparing now. So please, if you can, send your special Christmas gift today.

Commissioned by Grey Canada, Johnny Kelly has created Clothing’, ‘Food’ and ‘Shelter’ for The Salvation Army for their 2013 Christmas Campaign. Each ad sees coins dropped into The Salvation Army kettle, making the initial darker scenes transform into optimistic scenarios. Created using stop motion animation, the beautifully-rigged characters and worlds highlight just a few coins can help change people’s lives, take people off the street and give them food, clothing and shelter. There is a stark contrast between the ‘before’ and ‘after’ scenes, and to make the transitions feel as immediate and straightforward as possible, the team used quick lighting changes, immediately shifting the colour from cold nighttime to warm daylight. The film’s message, ‘helping make dreams come true’ is beautifully encapsulated in this story about contrasts. A young girl longs for the simple things that we all take for granted. Ben Hibon’s craft of creating wonderfully rich stories, and the clever use of transitions allows this gracefully animated, 3D spot to leave a lasting impression on its audience, both visually and emotionally. The Wardrobe Apparel line from Salvation Army presents: I'll Fight Day - https://www.merchline.com/thesalvationarmy/categorydisplay.5761.c.htm I'll Fight Day is a Salvation Army youth servant evangelism day that will take place all across the world on Saturday, December 1st, 2012. I'll Fight Day is a way for you to share the Gospel through practical acts of kindness: like giving out free hot chocolate, returning shopping carts or cleaning up at a mall food court. These acts are done "in Jesus name" for the purpose of sharing God's love in a way that leads others to ask "Why are you doing this?" This event is a local, youth-led initiative where you and your friends can decide how you want to serve others in your community. There are many helpful resources available to help you participate in this event. Instructions, resources and promotional videos can be downloaded on this website. The opportunities are endless for you to show the love of Christ in practical ways and help identify the Kingdom of God in your community. This is a great chance for you to join the revolution. I'll fight to the very end! Will you?" http://www.usc.salvationarmy.org/usc/illfightday/index.html

We shot this on the Canon 7D. Using only available light. We shot it over the course of two days in early December. Surprisingly we collected around 10 dollars from good samaritans who thought we were actually from the Salvation Army. At the end of the day we gave the 10 bucks to a real Salvation Army bell ringer.
