This video is a small segment of a huge body of work, covering 7 years and 11 cities and over 1500 participating. We started in Salinas, and recorded 4th graders at Martin Luther King Elementary, teachers Michael Houston and Juan Carlos Gonzalez and it grew to include ages 5 to 84. We now have 11 cities/towns in California, with a wide range of art forms, professional artists, teachers and students. We had a show on Capitol Hill, Washington DC in Sept. and hope to pull it all together with a grant funded 1 hour documentary...so that people see how they can sustain peace and nonviolence in their communities. This project grew out of my work with James Irvine Foundation Communities Advancing the Arts and Poder Popular California Grants, and has been supported by: the Arts Council for Monterey County, First Night Monterey Artworks, Migrant Education, Marina City and Teen Center, Shelters that work with homeless teens in San Diego, San Diego Mission Federal Artwalk, schools and churches. Our recent nonprofit sponsors have been The Pro Democracy Education Fund and the Monterey Bay Women's Caucus for Art. We currently have as our nonprofit partner - Media Arts Center San Diego www.mediaartscenter.org/ ----- WE HOPE THOSE VIEWING WILL HELP US MAKE THE DOCUMENTARY A REALITY! contact Kiracorser@gmail.com

ArtPower! brings you a fresh new documentary series about UCSD student artists! For this segment, ArtPower! presents visual arts student Ren Ebel and his featured collaborative work "ReRun". ReRun is a gallery space turned into a suburban household where a family's visions and anxieties are explored. Ren and his collaborators are exemplary student artists who embody the special atmosphere of expression and creativity taking place at UCSD. "ReRun" is Ren Ebel, Tanner Cook, Diana Lee, and Erina Alejo. A big special thanks to Student Affairs and the Parent & Family Programs Innovation and Engagement Fund!
