Landwork 16 (rose windows) is a site specific work by David Tully. Although, in a current state of development / experimentation, Landwork 16 addresses themes of both mystery and reflection through anonymous discovery. Mystery, as in a Rose Window symbolizes mystery, somehow. Seeing / attempting to see / reach the unseen. Circular, like a lens, capturing. An eye, a witness. Reflection, obviously (the window) an element of the past, made present conceptually. Suggesting something continuous. Questioning an inner dialogue, in terms of the buildings inner ambiguity, proposed by the installation. Through anonymous discovery, a term coined describing David's practice. Where work is anonymously added to environments, intervening, re-directing, even going unrecognized or labelled as art.

Directed by Kaffe Matthews, ' The swamp that was...' is a multi-layered opera for sonic bicycles, made spring 2012 in collaboration with timelab, local Ghent communities, developer Dave Griffiths/FoAM, Flemish sound artist Els Viaene and mapman Peter Edwards. To be performed by visitors as they cycle the streets of Ghent on a satellite linked sonic bicycle. A work of sonic archaeology that knits together the spirits of the living and the dead and will hover invisible over the streets until the sonic cyclist passes through to trigger and reveal its shifting strands and harmonies. Enveloped by the music that changes as you go, audience find their own narrative. Rediscover your city. Was that a swarm of bees passing as the trumpets sounded and a kitchen sung Turkish song appeared round the corner? Did you find the last elephant? http://sonicbikes.net/the-swamp-that-was-2013/
