1. The Incarnation

We can be sure that Jesus was born, and the Incarnation is worth celebrating. Incarnation means “to become flesh,” and refers to God becoming a human being. There is one God, but there is a plurality in His personhood. God is three persons, and each person is fully God. Each person has all the attributes of God, and so all three persons are all-powerful, all-knowing, all-wise, all-loving, and all-merciful! God became one of us because He cared about us and wanted to save us. Jesus’ coming to earth reveals the Father’s heart. From the Father and the Son flow forth the Spirit, which is given to us, and from the Spirit we have a sense of His presence and peace and guidance! Without the Incarnation, we have no Holy Spirit inside of us! The Incarnation is worth celebrating!

Long before Christ was born, even before time began, the members of the Trinity had a meeting. At that meeting, a covenant was made where God the Father appointed the Son to redeem a people from the penalty due their sin. Pastor Mike demonstrates from the book of Hebrews that the plan of redemption is not some divine "Plan B", but rather the eternal, glorious decree of God.

What did you say before you were born? The anachronistic nature of this question makes it silly. However, when it comes to Jesus, God incarnate, it is a fair question. Hebrews 10 lets us eavesdrop on an inter-Trinitarian conference that took place in eternity past. Come listen in!
