I was charged with producing a promotional video for the Paradise festival and then given a budget for marketing of next to nothing. Throw in a devastating 2008 economy and I was forced to get very creative in order to make our 300k event budget stretch as far as I needed it to go. I remember considering taking Stew Redwine's name off the list of possible candidates to direct the promotional video because I never imagined I would be able to afford him. It was because I was already familiar with the quality he brought to his craft that I was skeptical he would be able to work with the limited resources I was able to allocate to the project. I called him despite my assumptions. My assumptions were wrong. Stew listened intensely and patiently, proceeded to ask a lot of follow up questions, and then to my surprise got very, very quiet. I learned very early on that Stew is not someone who will carelessly advise. He took two full days to think of solutions to a very difficult problem. On the third day he called and this video was his answer. I immediately hired Stew Redwine to help develop and direct the promotional video as well as document the festival itself. I picked Stew because of his experience, connections, industry knowledge, and integrity. I have now worked on several projects with Stew and consider him one of the best story tellers in the business. He is a discoverer, a questioner, a listener, a thinker, and one of the best answer-bringers I know. Stew Redwine is the solution-slinger bullseye-hitter I call when my aim is off target. I know that's cheesy but it is the most accurate metaphor I can draw. I obviously recommend Stew Redwine enthusiastically and without reservation. Albeit after working with Stew you will, like me, come up with excuses to call him just so you can pick his brain. I've called him twice this week and it's only Tuesday. Please enjoy the video and then follow the links below to take a look at Stew's work. God In My Everything is a new book (Aug 2013) by Ken Shigematsu, lead pastor at Tenth Ave Church in Vancouver, BC, published by Zondervan. You can buy it on Amazon.com here: http://www.amazon.ca/God-In-My-Everything-Ancient/dp/0310499259 Read an excellent review of the book here: http://booksaint.blogspot.ca/2013/06/god-in-my-everything-ken-shigematsu.html This trailer is produced by Reveal Creative in Vancouver, BC, featuring Luke McAdam and Ken Shigematsu. Description of book from GoodReads.com: 'Ken Shigematsu shows that spiritual formation is more than just solitude and contemplative reflections. Spiritual formation happens in the everyday, in each and every moment of life. For those caught up in the busyness of work, family, and church, it often feels like time with God is just another thing on a crowded 'to-do' list. Ken explains how the time-tested spiritual practice of the 'rule of life' can help bring busy people into a closer relationship with God. He shows how a personal rule of life can fit almost any vocation or life situation. In God in My Everything, you will discover how to create and practice a life-giving, sustainable rhythm in the midst of your demanding life. If you long for a deeper spirituality but often feel that the busyness of life makes a close relationship with God challenging---and, at times, seemingly impossible---this book is for you.'
